Central to our proposals for the redevelopment of the Sutton Estate, Chelsea are the new communal gardens, which will be over five times bigger than the current garden area.
Tenants on the Estate are already actively involved in gardening through the sunken garden club and have benefitted from a community grant. So we wanted to give them the opportunity to get involved in helping to shape and create the new communal gardens.
Our communal gardens workshops were held on 19 May 2015. At the workshops, our landscapers working on the redevelopment proposals came and spoke to tenants about the design of the gardens, planting, biodiversity and activities/uses for the gardens.
