During the consultation process we have active engaged with 76% of households on the Sutton Estate, through various channels including one meeting in residents’ homes, presentations, visits to other schemes. Over half of the remaining households live in one of the two blocks to be retained and therefore are not directly affected. However, all residents have received regular newsletters, had the opportunity to speak to neighbours, seen posters and had access to all the information on a dedicated website.
Our team has also worked closely and extensively with the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea’s (RBKC) Officers and Members including 28 pre-application meetings and five meetings with the Architectural Appraisal Panel.
In addition an independent survey of 148 households, conducted by Ipsos Mori, prior to the submission of the planning application found that 49% of residents supported the proposals to rebuild most of the estate, 12% neither supported or opposed the proposals and 4% did not know.
